Shoe Therapy

The Shoe Therapy series is a series of shoes which celebrate processing thoughts out loud into the form of shoes. In this series, Converse sneakers are cut, altered, painted and sealed with different monster teeth. As part of the fun of different monsters, each shoe is unique as the teeth vary. There are a variety of monsters and teeth used in the series, as well as different color Converse- all of which give different characters and individuality.

The shoes are upcycled for 2 motivations:

1. The artists’ approach to art and design of using existing materials when possible

2. Monsters look better when they have some grit and life to them-they are scarier that way!
